Guinness World Records approved this year the Stand Up Online Widget for the first time.
If you can’t join a “Stand Up” event in person, you can participate virtually from October 16 - 18, 2009 using the online widget as below.
In 2006, 23 million people stood up against poverty, followed by 47 million people in 2007, and a total of 116 million people Stood Up and Took Action last year.
Let’s break the record again this year and send a greater and louder message than ever in achieving the Millennium Developments.
Chic Yamada Clothing is initiating the Stand Against Poverty by United Nation. For every piece of Chic Yamada’s clothes sold, we are donating USD$1 into the funding of activating this campaign. So far we have raised a total of RM2,450 equivalent to USD$700 in a span of 2 months. This fund will be used to activate our very 1st campaign this year to raise the targeted amount of RM20,000 to buy school books and other miscellaneous items for Malaysian children and women.
This year, we have Dooodolls Design, Future Sounds Asia, Tongue In Chic, Malaysian Today collaborates with CHIC YAMADA has come together to STAND UP AGAINST POVERTY.
